sweet potato dinner rolls

The Thanksgiving baking has begun!  I saw this recipe on The Kitchn blog and thought they looked perfect for a make-ahead roll for Thanksgiving.  Cael thought they were fun to make (our whole family loves sweet potatoes) and they were easy enough for him to help with the whole process.  They were delicious fresh-- crispy and browned, but soft and moist on the inside.  Now I just have to hope that they reheat well after being frozen!

  1. These sound like something my family would love. I might just have to tackle my fear of yeast recipes and go for it!

  2. I will admit that I'm very afraid of breadmaking. Cael thinks that yeast "burping" to make his bread have holes is pretty dang hilarious though, so I'm trying to be brave. Just put Doug in charge of the yeast. Then you have someone to blame :)

  3. Kris, do you remember if these reheated well after freezing? I think I might try them this Thanksgiving, as lots of family members are coming for the weekend. BTW, what are you guys up to for Thanksgiving?

  4. They did! (Sorry for the delay, Kory's family was in town and I got nothing done for the week.) Planning on joining some friends for a misfit Thanksgiving. It will be strange not to be with our families, but hopefully we will be forgiven!

  5. Thanks! No worry about the delay; I just got back to the recipe now to find your answer. I'm still a little nervous about the yeast, but I figure if I make them this weekend and they don't work out for me, we'll figure out something else before Thursday! Have a nice Thanksgiving.
